Dr. Sussan Ononaku DNP, FNP-BC. PMHNP-BC is a Board-Certified Family and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with more than 33yrs of clinical experience in healthcare. She completed her bachelors and masters degrees in nursing at Bowie State University, specializing in family medicine, board certified by the nationally recognized American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). She proceeded to Chamberlin University where she earned a doctorate degree in Advanced Practice Nurse Leadership. Due to her passion with mental health treatments, she proceeded to Brandman University and currently board certified in psychiatry. she’s had numerous opportunities working in varied healthcare settings both in inpatient and out patient settings. She provides evidenced-based health assessments, diagnoses and treatments of chronic and acute healthcare issues. Nurse Practitioners are clinicians that blend clinical expertise in diagnosing and treating health conditions with an added emphasis on disease prevention and health management, they bring comprehensive perspectives and personal touch to health care.

As a nurse practitioner, I am a provider, a teacher, counselor, leader, surrogate, advocate, resource, and a friend to the patients that I have the opportunity to care for. My goal in healthcare is to provide for you, stand by you, protect you, and to fight for you until you get the most optimum healthcare that you deserve. I stand to protect you and maintain in confidence all information you provided to me during the time that I care for you.
I personally have a supportive family blessed with four beautiful children. To me, family is everything and I love and take care of mine.
